Lost
© Anne Sumner 2011
Fearless wanderer striking a pose in the dark
Love moves quietly leaving a trail in the grass
What is lost, lost
There in the moonlight without you
Driven from here where the night is broken
Shining
What is lost, lost
Never knew madness from anger
Flirting with danger, it calls your name
And you can not refuse
You are lost, lost until the magic finds you
Sweet child, innocence fanning your life-passion’s flame
Speechless, beauty is nothing as night closes in
What is lost, lost
There in the moonlight without you
Driven from here where the night is broken
Shining
What is lost, lost
Never knew madness from anger
Flirting with danger, it calls your name
And you can not refuse
You are lost, lost until the magic finds you
Wisdom holds in its hands what is born to be learned
Song-bird, no-one is there but your songs must be heard
What is lost, lost
There in the moonlight without you
Driven from here where the night is broken
Shining
What is lost, lost
Never knew madness from anger
Flirting with danger, it calls your name
And you can not refuse
You are lost, lost until the magic finds you
