Sayin' Nothin'
© Anne Sumner 2014
All these days with you and all this empty space
All this time my heart is bursting full of things I never say
You know I love you in the places we belong
But when the words are too strong
I'm sayin' nothin' any more, nothing you ain't heard before
You know I love you in a hundred different ways
I'll catch your eye and raise my glass, feel these moments as they pass
You'll know I love you when there's nothing left to say
Catch a glimpse of something I can never feel
Try to work out how you do the thing you do that makes it real
We get caught up in the things we'll never be
But when the truth is too easy to see
I'm sayin' nothin' any more, nothing you ain't heard before
You know I love you in a hundred different ways
I'll catch your eye and raise my glass, feel these moments as they pass
You'll know I love you when there's nothing left to say
Don't say a word
Don't walk away
Don't turn your back on me, you know I'll never let you leave
This is all I am
I'm sayin' nothin' any more, nothing you ain't heard before
You know I love you in a hundred different ways
I'll catch your eye and raise my glass, feel these moments as they pass
You'll know I love you when there's nothing left to say
You'll know I love you when there's nothing left to say
